The former naval prison in Karosta, a Russian-built port that stretches from the seaside city of Liepāja to the north, is now a setting for an interactive tour which involves delights as being herded at gunpoint by actors clothed as Soviet prison guards. Toboggan without snow in Madeira, Portugal

Though you make the 560m climb up to the Monte, the hillside town which hangs calmly over Madeira’s capital, Funchal, there’s only one way we would recommend getting back down: toboggan.
